BANK OF OKLAHOMA CENTER
Tulsa, Oklahoma

The BOK Center is a multi-purpose arena and a primary indoor sports and events venue located in the heart of downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma. The center is designed by Cesar Pelli, the architect of the Petronas towers in Malaysia, and local firm Matrix Architects, Inc. Pelli was asked by Tulsa City officials to create an arena that would be an architectural icon and to achieve this, Pelli employed many cultural, art deco, and contemporary styles to the circular design of this facility. Throughout the main concourse, more than 130,000 sf of terrazzo flooring containing 70% mother of pearl aggregate is accompanied by a poured in place terrazzo curb on the outer perimeter. As the many visitors follow the circular motion of the interior in this facility, they will also be greeted by the enormous poured in place grand stairway and pedestrian ramp that wrap around a great portion of the main lobby.
